Certification Conditions for Families and Actors
1. Purpose of certification
CulturaTrip certification aims to guarantee visitors a level of quality, safety, and authenticity in all experiences offered on the platform. It applies to host families and local actors (guides, photographers, drivers, coordinators).
2. Host family certification conditions
2.1 General conditions
- Be of legal age and a permanent resident of Benin
- Own or legally occupy the proposed accommodation
- Accept CulturaTrip's terms of use
- Have no final criminal conviction on record
2.2 Accommodation conditions
- Clean, ventilated guest room(s) with lockable doors
- Access to properly functioning sanitary facilities
- Running water (hot water recommended)
- Electricity with stable supply
- Internet connection (Wi-Fi recommended)
2.3 Certification process
- File submission: online form + supporting documents
- Physical inspection: visit by an accredited coordinator within 7 days
- Intercultural training: mandatory module (in person or online, ~4 hours)
- Final validation: by the CulturaTrip team within 5 business days
3. Certification levels
- Certified: basic criteria validated
- Favourite: rating ≥ 4.5/5, minimum 5 reviews, no serious incident
- Excellence: rating ≥ 4.8/5, response rate ≥ 90%, minimum 10 stays, cancellations < 2%
Levels are recalculated automatically every night.
4. Commission and remuneration
CulturaTrip charges a commission of 20% on each completed stay. The distribution of the remaining amount is:
- 45% for the host family
- 25% for participating local actors
- 10% for the local coordinator
5. Local actor certification conditions
Local actors (guides, photographers, drivers, coordinators) must provide:
- Valid identity document
- Professional competence or experience certificate
- Professional liability insurance certificate
- Clean criminal record (for coordinators)
6. Loss of certification
CulturaTrip reserves the right to suspend or withdraw certification in case of:
- Non-compliance with the CulturaTrip charter
- Confirmed serious incident
- Fraud or false declaration
- Rating below certification thresholds for more than 30 consecutive days
Any suspension is notified by email with the reasons and the appeals procedure.
